Red Rooster Ranch

Dempsey’s owners, Peter and Bernadette Burrell, also operate Red Rooster Ranch, a small organic farm in West Petaluma. Ranch items are included on the menu year-round, allowing Dempsey’s to serve the freshest, most flavorful foods possible.

For example, early summer crops include potatoes, herbs, arugula and mizuna, chard, escarole, beets, baby carrots, baby lettuces and 17 varieties of tomatoes. Fruit trees supply Dempsey’s with an abundance of fruit and berries for desserts, chutneys and sauces. Sonoma County’s mild weather gives a 12-month growing season so there’s always something on the menu from the Ranch.
